IMPORTANT UPDATE – Fall Horse Ranch Camporee rescheduled to September 21 – 23, 2018.

Camporee Host Unit Members, District Committee Members, Camporee Volunteers, and Vendors:
As communicated earlier, the owner of the River Valley Ranch asked us to change the date of our camporee (earlier email https://www.lakeminnetonkadistrict.org/bdkz).
Based on the feedback we received from the host units, volunteers, and vendors working to plan and run the camporee, we have tried to identify the best date possible that would work for the ranch. The September 21-23 date avoids the conflicts raised by this team such as the Lake Minnetonka OA Chapter Conclave and various football homecomings. While we know rescheduling is not ideal, we’ve tried to make the best situation possible for the youth in our district.
With the move to September 21st thru September 23rd, we will benefit from warmer weather, dryer conditions, more daylight hours, and perhaps most importantly, greater opportunities for our youth to participate in trail rides. We have worked with the River Valley Ranch to eliminate fees for camping overnight and have locked in 240 – 260 trail rides at a discounted rate. We hope this will make for a better camporee for all who attend.

As a reminder, the next camporee planning meeting will be August 30, 2018 at 6:45PM at the Plymouth Public Library. A meeting notice will be emailed to you under separate cover.
