THANKS FOR SUPPORTING SCOUTING FOR UNIFORMS 2018

PILGRIM DRY CLEANERS LED SUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO HELP SCOUTS IN NEED

A “Scout Salute” to all who contributed a gently used uniform to our July Scouting for Uniforms Drive. Between collections at the 25 Pilgrim Dry Cleaner locations and at all the Scout Service Centers (St Paul and Golden Valley until 7/23 and then at Fort Snelling), more than 150 uniforms were added. In addition, several hundred dollars in donations were received which will be used to purchase uniforms in high demand sizes.

Special thanks to Pilgrim Dry Cleaners for sponsoring and hosting this 11th annual collection effort. More than 4,150 uniforms have been collected during this time. The 2018 freshly cleaned uniforms will be redistributed to families with limited resources for their children to have the full Scouting experience.

Our appreciation also goes to the Sun Newspapers for their excellent coverage and to iHeart Media. IHeart provided radio spots during the 4th of July week, with KDWB Radio Host Dave Ryan lending his voice and social media presence to promote the effort.

Their communications helped to drive donations as well as share the message that Scouting is for all young people, regardless of income.
