SOME MORE S’MORES’ ON NATIONAL S’MORES DAY

CELEBRATE THIS TASTY CAMPFIRE TREAT’S 90TH ANNIVERSARY

Join us in celebrating National S’mores Day and the 90th anniversary of the S’more on Thursday, August 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting in north Saint Paul. If you like this gooey and delectable treat, stop by for as many s’mores as you can eat! Whether you love s’mores or not, come for an evening of fun and exploring the Museum’s exquisite exhibits. All participants will receive the new Museum patch for attending as well.

THE MYSTERIOUS HISTORY OF THE S’MORE

“S’mores”, formerly known as “some mores” were first seen in a 1927 Girl Scout book called Tramping and Trailing with Girl Scouts. However, no one knows who first invented them. The recipe that called for the sweet combination of chocolate, marshmallow, and graham crackers was credited to a woman named Loretta Scott Crew, but some sources say that her involvement, and even her existence, are swirled in controversy. Although the history of the s’more is a bit uncertain, their existence today is one we can all be thankful for.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Sounds like something you don’t want to miss? The cost is only $5 for Museum members if you are registered by July 20th and $10 for members who register after July 20th. For non-members, the cost is still a very reasonable $15.
