Order of the Arrow * – Information for All Troops

oa-100-yearsChapter Conclave SUCCESS!! – Welcome new Ordeal members, new Brotherhood members, and those of you that renewed your membership for the next year! We had a great weekend of service, brotherhood and perfect sleeping weather. The annual business meeting elected new youth officers and provided insight for the coming year. SCOUTMASTERS – please speak with all your OA youth to appoint an OA Troop Representative. This important leadership role is your direct representative to the Chapter, and they will bring important skills and information back to your unit after each monthly meeting. You or your assigned committee representative already attend roundtable each month and would be the best resource to provide transportation for the scouts.

November Chapter Meeting – New Youth Leaders Take Their Posts – The November meeting is the official transition for the newly elected Chapter Chief and his staff to start developing and implementing their program. We have a great slate of activities to confirm and plan. Please ensure your unit OA Troop Representative is planning to attend. Chapter meetings are open to all Arrowmen so we also recommend all new Ordeal members attend to find out how they can continue to serve. Chapter meetings are open to all Arrowmen so to keep up the momentum started at Conclave – we’d love to see as many faces as possible. Thursday, November 3rd at 7PM, Minnetonka Community Center.

Fall Fellowship – October 28-29 at Maplewood Community Center – At the Maplewood Community Center, you will have the opportunity to swim in the pool, compete in the gym, go to the arcade, and meet other Arrowmen from around the council! Need a little time to relax? We’ll also be showing movies in the community rooms. Want to learn a little more about ceremonies and regalia? We will have a marquee session at midnight to broaden your knowledge.

New this year, we will be providing information sessions on the Order of the Arrow for Arrowmen of all ages and experience levels. If you have never been to a fellowship event, you should really try to make this fall event and meet your peers, youth, and adults alike:

  • New Member Orientation  – Just completed the Ordeal? Learn about the tests of the Ordeal, what it takes to become Brotherhood, and learn what the OA has to offer!
  • Brotherhood and Beyond – What does it mean to be a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow? Join our session to discuss the Arrowman duty to Scouting and what’s next in your OA journey?
  • OA Basics – Learn more about the events and programs of the OA, from the lodge level all the way to national events and programs!

Upcoming Meetings and Events

  • Oct 28-29 – Fall Fellowship
  • Nov 3 – November Chapter Meeting at Roundtable, 7PM Minnetonka Community Center

*The Order of the Arrow (OA) is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). It uses American Indian-styled traditions and ceremonies to bestow recognition on scouts selected by their peers as best exemplifying the ideals of Scouting. We also SERVE Scouting and our Communities as part of our commitment as part of the “Brotherhood of Honored Campers”.
