GET READY FOR NATIONAL ORDER OF THE ARROW CONFERENCE 2018

SUBMIT YOUR INTEREST

The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) will be held this summer at Indiana University. This is a multi-day event bringing together thousands of delegates from Order of the Arrow lodges around the nation for training and activities. NOACs are held every two years, with exceptions made to align the event with significant anniversaries. In particular, the deferral from 2008 to 2009 aligned the schedule with the Order of the Arrow’s 100th anniversary.

WHO CAN ATTEND:

Each Lodge is allocated a certain number of spots based on the Lodge’s size and the available space on the campus. Any Order of the Arrow member is eligible to apply to attend NOAC, and we will accommodate as many members as possible based on our allocation of spots.

We have started our sign up to attend NOAC HERE (Link – https://scoutingevent.com/250-2018NOACforNSC). Typically, we have enough space for the interested youth and are filling our spots as a first come first serve process. Currently we are accepting interest from adults due to the limited space.

Any members of the Lodge that are not able to attend with the Council contingent, but are still interested in attending, are encouraged to look into staffing at NOAC. Please contact Lodge leadership if this is of interest to you.

WHAT HAPPENS AT NOAC:

You will be able to play dodge ball, capture the flag and numerous other games. PLUS – if you don’t like to cook, this is the trip for you! All the meals are prepared for you in the college cafeteria. You will be staying in the dorm rooms on campus.

There are ceremony and dance team competitions. There is an awesome OA Trading Post and NOAC hosts the second biggest patch trading event (first being the National Jamboree). There are exhibitors with the latest in camping and outdoor equipment and High Adventure trip planning that you can go on. Interested in the history of OA? See it in the Museum of OA and Scouting History.

NOAC not only has lots of fun opportunities but it’s educational too! You will attend classes to improve your leadership skills that you can bring back to your unit and Lodge or learn what it’s like to be a Lodge Chief.

Other classes include OATR training, helping the Boys in Blue, Webelos to Boy Scout crossover, conducting a Vigil Callout ceremony and many more.
