NEW WOOD BADGE COURSE DIRECTORS SELECTED
TWO EXCELLENT INDIVIDUALS
Northern Star Scouting is pleased to announce the selection of two outstanding volunteers to serve as course directors for upcoming Wood Badge courses.

Clayton Pinson
Clayton Pinson has been selected to lead the Fall 2019 course and Karol Smith will lead the winter 2020 course. Both Clayton and Karol come to the program with ample experience and are prepared to develop high functioning teams to put on an effective leadership experience. Clayton currently serves as the District Chair for Three Rivers District and Karol is the Vice-chair for Eagle Advancement with Northwest District.
For leaders who are considering Wood Badge, or aren’t aware of the program, it is a comprehensive training course started by Robert S.S. Baden-Powell, to help leaders hone their skills, extend their understanding of youth and other adults, and go on to new levels of personal growth and learning as Scouters. It weaves a model troop format, leadership training, and fun together!

Karol Smith
Wood Badge is run over two separate 3-day weekends where you have the opportunity to learn skills and concepts through practical experience via the five themes of Wood Badge:
- Living the Values
- Bringing the Vision to Life
- Models for Success
- Tools of the Trade
- Leading to Make a Difference
