A BLAST OF A CAMPOREE!
Get ready for a BLAST as we launch a super exciting Lake Minnetonka Winter Camporee!
On Friday Feb 10 through Sunday Feb 12, 2017, Lake Minnetonka and Northern Lights will be hosting a camporee where learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) meet good ol’ winter fun! We plan to offer a great mix of indoor and outdoor activities that will appeal to Scouts, Webelos, and Venturers. Join us as we hold rocket building demonstrations and then launch our rockets from a frozen lake! Along with model rocket display and demos of large rocket launches and drones, we also plan to offer model hot air balloons, and an ice-rescue demo.
During the weekend we’ll also hold classic outdoor games such as broomball, snow football, and snow golf! We’ll also hold our annual KLONDIKE DERBY. Your unit can either camp outside and try to earn the “Zero Hero” award, or we’ll have a limited number of inside bunks too. Your Webelos Den, Troop, or Crew is welcome to participate for the whole weekend, or just for the day on Saturday Feb 11th.
The Location for this camporee will be at the brand new Tonkawa Lodge at Camp Stearns.
