Totanhan Nakaha Lodge – Founder’s Award Nominations needed by Friday, Oct 23rd

It’s time once again to nominate worthy individuals, youth or adult, for the Order of the Arrow Founder’s Award. A brief description of the award is in the OA Handbook, or see the section below.

The Founder’s Award was created to honor and recognize those Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to the lodge. The award is reserved for those Arrowmen who memorialize in their everyday life, the spirit of achievement as described by our founder E. Urner Goodman. Normally. at our winter banquet in January, Totanhan Nakaha Lodge presents the award to four deserving Arrowmen. We hope to do the same in early 2021.
The following is a hyperlink to an electronic version of the nomination form:  2021 Electronic Founder’s Award Nomination Form
More information can be found on the first page of the on-line form.
This year, all nominations are done using the above Google form. Once completed, the form is automatically added to the list of nominations. You do not need to mail it.
For questions on the Founders Award, please contact:
Randy Reverman
The form must be filled out and saved before Oct 23rd 2020. Nominations received after Oct 23rd 2020 will not be considered. A youth selection committee will meet to decide on our Lodge’s quota of four recipients, and the awards will be announced early next year, hopefully at a Winter Banquet.
Thank you!
Yours in Brotherhood,
Daniel Kimball,
Lodge Chief

History of the Founder’s Award
Introduced at the 1981 National Order of the Arrow Conference, the Founder’s Award was created to honor and recognize those Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge. The award is reserved for an Arrowmen who demonstrates to fellow Arrowmen that he or she memorializes in his or her everyday life the spirit of achievement as described by founder E. Urner Goodman and cofounder Carroll A. Edson.
The Award is a handsome bronze medallion bearing the likenesses of E. Urner Goodman and cofounder Carroll A. Edson, with wooden base and brass plate suitable for engraving. Also available is a special Founder’s Award arrow ribbon, with a gold colored arrow suspended from a red ribbon.
Lodges may petition the national Order of the Arrow Committee to present up to four awards annually, based on lodge membership. If the lodge presents more than one award, one must be to a youth under the age of 21.
