SUBMIT YOUR UNIT’S COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

NORTHERN STAR COUNCIL COLLECTS AND REPORTS COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

Each charter renewal packet for your unit will contain a “2017 Community Service Survey” that is filled out and turned in with your charter renewal packet. This sheet contains all the information needed to submit the hours and get your unit credit for the hours of service. This sheet is brightly colored and can’t be missed. This sheet must be turned in before the end of the calendar year (December 31) to allow us the time to enter it for the 2017 year.

For Lake Minnetonka District members, you may submit your service hours online by following the directions posted on the Service Hours Reporting page  of the district website.

WHY FILL THIS SHEET OUT?

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest community service organizations in the United States. We provide service to the community, churches, other non-profits, schools, and more. We use the submitted hours to tabulate hours so we can share this service with the greater community. It allows us to show our importance to our supporters and help recruit more support for the scouting program.

WHAT COUNTS AS COMMUNITY SERVICE?

Any project that is bennefiting the greater community can be considered service projects and counted as hours. This includes, but isn’t limited to, Scouting for Food, Eagle Scout projects, camp service projects, service to your Chartering Organization, service work to churches, projects at a local school, helping at events, etc.(NOTE: Eagle Scout project service hours are automatically entered at the office when paperwork is submitted).
