Spring Camporee 2018 – IRON CHEF- Planning Meeting – Mar 8, 2018 7:00PM – DATE CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER

DATE CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER!

Hello Host units (Troops 345, 175, 192, 202, 424, and 283), district activities committee and anyone else who wants to help plan a really fun event!

Please join us on at 7PM on THURSDAY, March 8th at the Plymouth Library,  because it is time to officially start planning for our upcoming Spring Camporee!  The date for the camporee is set for May 4-6 at Baker Park in Maple Plain. By popular demand the theme will be COOKING skills and competition!

This will be a perfect camporee for anyone who loves to cook or eat! The initial plans include camp kitchen skills to be taught at various stations by fellow Boy Scout troops, district staff, and even Webelos patrols.  We’ll have chef skills competition and awards and  recognitions will be presented at a highly entertaining campfire program. This will be a more traditional camporee, which will include tent camping, hiking, and merit badge opportunities, such as the COOKING merit badge!

Some of the suggested activities include Boiled Egg Races, Pancake Flipping Derby, Spice Up Your Life, Make Your Own BBQ Sauce, Chili Cook Off,  Crepe Making, Bacon Toss,  Mystery Meat, and  many other possible stations and competitions.   Please come to the planning meeting with your suggestions and ideas for a fantastic event.

Both adult leaders and youth leaders from host units should plan to attend the planning meeting since this is YOUR EVENT, and we will adjust the initial plans to fit your suggestions.

We hope to see you on March 8th for the planning kick-off meeting.
