Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (classroom component) – At March and April Roundtables

Scoutmaster Position-Specific training is the BSA’s initial level of training for the top leaders of Boy Scout troops. It is designed for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and junior assistant Scoutmasters. However, committee members and all adults connected to a Boy Scout troop are welcome to attend.

When Scoutmaster Position-Specific training (classroom training component) AND Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) (outdoor component) have BOTH been completed, new Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters will have the tools needed to begin an effective Boy Scouting program.  BOTH classes are required to meet the Journey 2.0 “Position-Trained” requirement (Guide Post 4) deadline by October 31, 2017.

  1. Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (classroom training component) is available at the University of Scouting on April 22 OR at the March 2 AND 6 Lake Minnetonka District Roundtables, beginning at 7:00PM.*  Both roundtable nights are required.
  2. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) (outdoor component) is available at the University of Scouting on April 22.

* Scoutmasters and Troop Committee Chairs, do you have a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, or a parent who is interested in getting trained and needs the Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (classroom training component)? Lake Minnetonka District is offering the Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (classroom training component) at the March 2 and April 6 roundtable meetings at 7:00PM.
