RECORD MILLION DOLLAR DAY FOR SCOUTING KICKS OFF NEW YEAR

Nearly 900 generous Scouting supporters took part in the two breakfasts that make up the Million Dollar Day for Scouting. This kick-off to the Friends of Scouting Campaign raised over $1.1 million by the end of the 25 hour period. We started off great, now let’s all work to ensure that we continue to provide our great camps, programs, and trainings that we all take advantage of.

Have you prepared your unit for Friends of Scouting this year? Some things that you and your unit can do to have a successful FOS campaign are:

  • Make sure you’ve submitted your FOS dates online and let us know if you want a presenter from the district
  • Send a preview letter to unit parents and other unit adult leaders, including former adult leaders 2-3 weeks before your presentation
  • Ensure that every parent and adult leader submits their pledge card
  • Check the submitted pledge cards to see if there are any matching gift opportunities
  • Follow-up with all parents in your unit to meet your goal!!
