Scout Sunday is always held on the Sunday before the birthday of the Boy Scouts of America on Feb. 8th and celebrates the connection between Scouting and our faith-based chartered partners.
Some Scouts and adult leaders will honor this day by wearing their full field uniform to worship services. In other units, a worship leader presents religious awards to recipients. In still others, the pack, troop, crew or ship conducts a service project that benefits the religious organization.
Pack 477 scouts and older scout siblings from Troop 570 participated in Scout Sunday by attending church. The scouts read lessons and said prayers that each of them had written. They also helped prepare, served, and cleaned up refreshments for all the parishioners in the church.
My unit participated in Scout Sunday, Scout Sabbath, or Scout Jumuah – Wear the patch or pin!
