Help with “Duty to God”

Scouting as a Youth Ministry

Are you looking at how you can help your Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Crew member show their “Duty to God”? The Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting (ACCS) of St Paul and Minneapolis is here to help. The ACCS is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” in all scouting programs. A committee of the Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis, the ACCS supports and assists all Catholic scouts and units. The ACCS activities include promotion and support of religious emblems, unit/volunteer recognitions, annual recognition ceremony, summer camp chaplains and support to Catholic charted units.

Nominate Someone

The ACCS is currently seeking nominations for individual and unit awards. The ACCS annually recognizes those adults, Catholic and non-Catholic, and units who have contributed significantly to the Catholic Scouting program and the spiritual development of youth in Scouting. Awards for adults include the Bronze Pelican and St George medal. In addition, Catholic-chartered packs, troops and crews can qualify for national quality unit recognition. The Catholic Quality Unit Award each year recognizes units meeting certain standards. Nomination forms and more information is available on-line at the ACCS website [email protected]. Nominations are due by March 10, 2017. Upcoming events for the ACCS include courses at the University of Scouting on April 22, 2017 and our annual recognition mass on May 20, 2017 at the Basilica of St Mary.
