HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT ROUNDTABLE

District Roundtable is the monthly gathering of various Unit Leaders, Committee Chairs and Members, Den Leaders, and other adult volunteers brought together to share knowledge and skills of the various aspects of scouting as it relates to their responsibilities and expertise.

Roundtable is run by parent volunteers. The program that is presented is to help other parent volunteers in acquiring knowledge and skills to bring back to their units to ensure that their children and the rest of the unit are provided with the best Scouting program possible.

The District has assembled a few of the required staff, or team, that is required to put on a successful Roundtable, but more are still needed to help spread out the workload among the various components of Roundtable. Six to eight individuals make a good size patrol in a troop and also would work well in a Roundtable “Patrol”.

As a member of the Roundtable team your input and assistance to create and present the program is very important.

The team has need for a Venture Roundtable Commissioner, various assistants, and other occasional helpers.

I am asking ALL units to look over their list of adult volunteers and nominate an individual that would work well as a member of the Roundtable staff. If you have an interest or know of one that could help in this important part of Scouting, please email me at [email protected] (District Commissioner) or Brett Batz (Assistant District Commissioner for Roundtable) at [email protected] and let us know. We will make the call to invite.

There are many resources available for Roundtable program and staff just as there are for Boy Scout, Cub Scout, and Venturing programs. Training for Roundtable Commissioners is available on-line in My.Scouting.Org and locally at the University of Scouting and at the College of Commissioner Service.

Remember, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SCOUTS!

Yours in Scouting,

Allan Arntson
District Commissioner
