2017 Spring University of Scouting Success

650 People, Nine Councils

Over 650 participants from nine councils took advantage of over 115 courses with 25 new classes offered at the 2017 Spring University of Scouting held at Lakeville South High School on Saturday, April 22, 2017. The training extravaganza had classes for everyone! The leader specific trainings, BALOO, IOLS, Internet Advancement, Outdoor Cooking, STEM, and School Night for Scouting trainings were certainly some of the highlights. The Youth Leadership College provided training to over 110 Boy Scout and Venturing youth. A good time was had by all.

Special thanks to Lakeville South High School for hosting the event, and Lauren Johnson-Naumann and Jessi King-Markham for serving as Co-Chancellors. An event of this magnitude could not have been pulled off without the countless hours selflessly given by Deans – Matt Markham, Dave Murphy, George Strickland, Faith Anderson, Sandy Muench, Registration – Charles Wangerin, Cheryl Reiners, Midway – Mary Lillemo, Facilities – Laurie Johnson, Rick Cihla, Lunch – Dina Boie, Opening Ceremony- Brian Reiners, Photographer – Jim Foster. Special thank you to all who volunteered to share their expertise by teaching courses this spring. Thank you all for making this event possible. Scout Long and Prosper!

The 2017 Fall University of Scouting will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017. We hope you will join us for the next AWESOME event this fall!
