The date is set for the district’s 2018 pinewood derby finals! Wayzata Community Church and Pack 283 will again play host to our derby on April 14, 2018.
This event is open to ALL CUB SCOUTS (Lion through Webelos). However, Packs are still encouraged to send the top three (3) finishers of each rank. We will not turn away any Scout that wants to put his car against the best competition from across the district. All participants will receive a specially-designed event patch.
The top three finishers in each race category will receive a trophy and they will participate in a final “race-off” at the completion of the preliminaries. In addition, the first race of the day will be the OPEN CLASS for anyone who would like to race, parents, Boy Scouts, grandparents, siblings (rules apply).
NEW this year! Girls will be able to race with the boys at each rank level. The Official Derby Rules , all the details, and registration are available using the link below.
Cars must meet derby rules and specifications before they will be allowed to race. Inspection MUST be completed at least 10 minutes prior to your expected race start time. The rulings of the race officials are final, so please follow the rules closely. All racers must wear their field uniform (Class A uniform) in order to participate.
