District Pinewood Derby Finals AND MORE! – SCOUT FEST at Ridgedale Center – Mar 16, 2019 – CHECK IF YOUR PACK RACERS ARE ATTENDING!
Are you the fastest of the fast? The quickest of the quick? Then mark your calendars for the Lake Minnetonka Pinewood Derby District Finals on Saturday, March 16th. We want the best racers, who have a need for speed, to race to be the fastest in Lake Minnetonka District. Every Pack should send their top three (3) racers from each rank, Lion Scout – Arrow of Light, to find the best – free to those racers. That is eighteen (18) racers per Pack! If a top racer can’t make the derby, then the pack should send a replacement. We’ll compete to find the best pinewood derby cars for each rank, as well as the overall winners for the district.
Your best racers will compete at RIDGEDALE CENTER – where everyone can join and be a part of the fun! What better place to showcase your racer!

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE – SCOUT FEST!
During the Pinewood Derby Finals, Scout Fest going on throughout Ridgedale Center for the whole family! It will include various actives and crafts, displays, and giveaways. There will be archery booths, the climbing wall, music DJ’s, photo opportunities, craft tables, a STEM Lego area, a Join Scout Booth, High Adventure and Camping booths, and various booths hosted by the Ridgedale retailers. It is all FREE! What a great way to spend some time between races, or just come out to enjoy the fun activities.
Consider bringing the whole den out for a great den activity. And make sure to Bring A Friend to see what Scouting is all about – what an awesome way for friends and family to experience just some of the fun that Scouting offers. Non-Scouts who stop by the membership booth can pick a car and race after the Championship race.
The event is hosted with Mustang District, however, we’ll have separate winners for each district. There will also be two open classes at a cost of $5.00 each – (1) Lake Minnetonka or Mustang District Cub Scouts (outside of the top 3 from each rank), Scouts BSA, the siblings of Scout Racers, and parents, and (2) Scouts outside of our districts.
What’s NEW this year?
- Top racers – we want your fastest and best to race each other – only the top three (3) racers per rank (who can attend the finals) to compete against each other. Open class for racers who want to be a part of the fun.
- Free event entry for the top three (3) racers from each rank per Pack. That’s eighteen (18) racers per pack at no cost!

- Scouting Activities, games, and prizes at Scout Fest – a ton of fun for Scouts, families, and everyone.
