Chaska Pack 301 holds Community Bike Rodeo

Chaska Pack 301 hosted a community Bike Rodeo on May 23rd. Open to all kids in the community, the Pack partnered with Officer Julie from the Chaska Police Dept, the Chaska-Chan-Eden Prairie Mountain Bike team, and Michael’s Cycles in downtown Chaska to run different stations where kids practiced bike control, speed and stopping, learned how to do a safety check on their bike, and had their helmets checked.

Committee Chair Amanda Broberg said “This was a fun event for our Scouts and got us out in the community. We probably had over a 100 people (kids and their families) attend the 2 hour event and got to meet several potential Scouts”. A number of kids found their helmet did not fit or was not as safe as could be and were able to purchase a new helmet through Officer Julie and the Chaska Police Department’s helmet program.

“This was a great way to kick off summer and give families the activities they’ve been looking for. Several families have mentioned their kids had a great time at the event” said Cubmaster Nick Pedersen
